The best advice I can offer is to learn to swim first! The pool and the sea, a water sports is good first kayak. If you are not satisfied at this point to jump into a river or the sea, learning in a pool, then a go outdoors! It's brilliant. Then try other sports such as bodyboarding, surfing, etc and see how they go. Just a lot of fun and not worry not too much, in fact, nothing can go wrong if you think about it!
