There is an interesting dive option for certified divers who are vacationing in the Orlando area especially with family members for non-divers. The Living Seas Pavilion at Epcot Center in Disney World is home to a marine tank that measures over 200 feet in diameter and 25 feet deep. This reservoir contains a sample of Caribbean marine life in an artificial salt water and reef environment. Thanks DiveQuest Tower Center, certified divers can take a special three-hour program that includes a forty minutes of diving in marine deposits.
The current price is U.S. $ 140 with advance reservation required. Divers meet at the seat of Relations with customers outside the main gates of Epcot. Epcot park entrance is not necessary or included. However, I stayed in the main area of The Living Seas after of the tour, so I ended up seeing other parts of Epcot free anyway. Twice a day at 4:30 pm and 5:30 pm, a maximum of twelve divers per time interval taken on a journey behind the scenes facilities The Living Seas. All diving equipment is provided. In fact, divers can not bring your own equipment for fear of contamination marine aquarium. Even jewelry must be removed before diving. Diving suits (shorty), regulators of BCS, fins, booties and masks are provided. Divers allowed to bring and use their own masks and bathing is necessary, but it's the only exceptions to the rule.
After the tour of the facility, monkeys and towels for each diver are already waiting in private stalls include private showers in the locker room. The configuration is well organized, but a bit strange because after changing into wetsuits, divers go in public places where there are other customers Epcot before entering the main level of the aquarium. Once at the Aquarium divemasters Marina are waiting with tanks and BCS already assembled for each diver. The surveys are integrated with the weight of weight and measure what is necessary is a single attached pressure gauge air. Not even a depth gauge or octopus Second Stage, which is not considered necessary, this shallow dive. After the conference diving divemasters help the divers with their equipment and move across the world for a line of descent in the middle of the tank.
The dive itself is usually beyond the expectations of the most diverse. There are a lot of marine life in the field, including sharks, rays, turtles and many fish of all sizes in the Caribbean. In fact, the staff claims that divers can see a wider variety of Caribbean marine life during this dive combined several in the open sea. A divers can do interesting things on this dive they can not do elsewhere is interact with Epcot guests public. There are sixty in observation windows all marine tank including views from the main restaurant. Divers are among the attractions of The Living Seas as the public behind the windows wave and take pictures. Some divers made arrangements with family members across the window as designated videotapes of the entire scene divemaster. Although I was skeptical at first, I must admit I liked the interaction with the crowd behind the glass. I have forgotten that the vast majority of people who are certified divers and we are a funny thing for them.
For divers who dive mainly to see marine life, the Epcot DiveQuest not disappoint. This is an opportunity to swim in some schools of fish and see the creatures as sharks and turtles near which, as most divers know, is a real success and not on the open sea. It is also a unique opportunity for relatives and friends who do not dive to see the environment of the Navy divers. DiveQuest is certainly worth a special break at least once.
