diving mask cleaning of age?
We dive masks have not been used for many years. They seem to be in good condition but the parties are bright yellow. Is there any way to get rid of it? What is the best way to clean?
Basically … I know nothing that silicon will change back to clear yellow. I once read in a forum that soaking in white vinegar could restore and I tried for fun and laughs with one of my masks of age who had yellowed with unsuccessful results. From the functional point of view, there is no yellowing should not significantly affect the performance of the mask, but if you have a silicone bracelet that has yellowed, now may be more likely to break when stretched. If you're worried about it, stop and local dive shop investment of 4 to 5 dollars in a new bracelet.
